The data is focused on four “Quad” counties (Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness, and Richmond) which have closely interwoven economies. There is a significant trading and mobility relationship between all four counties — this is an economic map, not a political one.
The Factbook will be available in print form to all delegates at the Assembly.

Registration is now open for the 2010 Economic Assembly at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre on April 14, 2010.
We are delighted to invite you to become a delegate for the 2010 Economic Assembly, an event which has been created as a catalyst for cooperation within our region. Now is the time for you to step up and join your fellow citizens as we work together to secure our collective futures here in this wonderful part of the world. If you have a passion for the future of our region and want to take part in an exciting process to add momentum and direction to our economic growth and sustainability, then we want you!
The Assembly is seeking delegates from all over the region and from all walks of life. The registration fee of $150 covers all Assembly events, materials and amenities including the Keynote Luncheon and the 2010 Economic Assembly Factbook.

Thomas Homer-Dixon holds the Centre for International Governance Innovation Chair of Global Systems at the Balsillie School of International Affairs in Waterloo, Canada, and is a Professor in the Centre for Environment and Business in the Faculty of Environment, University of Waterloo.
He was born in Victoria, British Columbia and received his B.A. in political science from Carleton University in 1980 and his Ph.D. from MIT in international relations and defense and arms control policy in 1989. He then moved to the University of Toronto to lead several research projects studying the links between environmental stress and violence in developing countries. Recently, his research has focused on threats to global security in the 21st century and on how societies adapt to complex economic, ecological, and technological change.
